HOW TO GET TO AND AROUND AEGINA
How to travel to Aegina
There are several ways to reach the island of Aegina.
Here you will find a detailed guide to the various transport options, including prices and timetables.
Landing at Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" (ATH)
Athens International Airport is located about 25 kilometers from Athens city center and it is approximately one hour away from the port of Piraeus, which you need to reach in order to travel to the island.
Try to book flights that arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. when travelling to the island, and flights that depart no earlier than noon when returning home. Otherwise, you may not be able to make the trip on the same day. To avoid unexpected delays, we recommend checking the timetables of the ferries traveling to Aegina before booking your flights, as schedules change depending on the season.

The ticket office at the Airport is located just outside the arrivals hall (while the bus station is located between Exit 4 and 5 of the arrivals level), while at Piraeus Port, it is located next to the bus stop.
Remember to validate your ticket once on board. The trip takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. Get off at the last stop, "Piraeus" and you will find the port on your left. Enter Gate E8 to find the ferries and Flying Dolphins heading to Aegina island.
